Why Stokes Outdoor

Not just a fence company. Full-service outdoor pros.

Most fence installers show up, dig holes, and leave. We correct grade, clear vegetation, and make sure your top rail runs straight — because we're landscape contractors first, not just fence guys.

Grade correction included

We level and grade before we set posts. Your fence follows the land properly — no wild top rails or uneven gaps at the bottom.

Detailed proposals

You get a full material list, a layout drawing, pricing breakdown, and warranty details before any work starts. No surprises.

In-house crew, not subs

The crew that quotes your fence is the crew that builds it. No subcontractors, no strangers showing up on install day.

What we install

Fence types we build.

Chain link fencing

3' – 8' residential chain link. Galvanized or vinyl-coated. Durable, affordable, and low maintenance.

Privacy fencing

Solid panel privacy fences for backyards, pools, and property lines. Multiple height and material options available.

Ornamental & picket

Aluminum picket fencing for patios, yards, and pool enclosures. Clean lines, no rust, and a more finished look than chain link.

Repairs & partials

Storm damage, leaning posts, broken panels, gate replacements. We fix what's there without rebuilding the whole thing.

Common Questions

Residential Fencing FAQ.

How long does a fence installation take?

Most residential fences are installed in 1–3 days once we have the permit. The permitting process itself typically takes 1–4 weeks depending on your city. Warren and some Grosse Pointe municipalities tend to take longer.

Do I need a permit?

In most cities, yes. We handle the entire permit process for you — including neighbor notification if required. Some cities like Warren require notarized signatures from adjacent property owners.

What's the payment structure?

50% deposit when you approve the proposal and we schedule the work. The remaining 50% is due when the fence is complete and you've done a final walkthrough.

Do you offer financing?

We're currently exploring financing options for larger projects. Contact us and we'll let you know what's available at the time of your quote.

What areas do you serve for fencing?

All of Macomb County and Wayne County — anywhere within about 30 minutes. We go where the project makes sense.

Can you remove my old fence?

Yes. We handle old fence removal and disposal as part of the project. It's included in the proposal so you know the full cost upfront.
