Our Story
Started from a truck.
Built on trust.
Sean Stokes launched Stokes Outdoor in 2013 — originally as Two Strokes Lawn and Snow — with a simple goal: do the work nobody else would show up for. While other crews were canceling last minute or cutting corners, Sean was answering the phone on the second ring and delivering on what he promised.
Over the years, the company grew from residential mowing into fencing, commercial snow plowing, and now excavation and site work. The name changed, the service list expanded, but the approach never did: show up on time, do the work right, and stand behind every job.
Today, with 30+ combined years of field experience on the team, Stokes Outdoor serves homeowners, HOA communities, commercial properties, and contractors across Macomb County — all from the same crew that started with a mower and a handshake.

Owner/Operator
Founded the company in 2013 and has been in the field every day since. Sean handles quoting, project management, and most of the client communication — because he'd rather you talk to the person doing the work than someone reading a script.

30 years of experience in excavation, sewer work, water main installation, and site contracting. Neal came on board after retiring from the industry — bringing decades of knowledge that lets Stokes Outdoor take on bigger, more complex projects.

Thirteen Years of Growth
2013
Two Strokes Lawn & Snow is Born
Sean Stokes starts the company as a residential lawn and snow operation in Macomb County. One truck, one mower, and a commitment to showing up.
2016
Rebrand to Stokes Outdoor
As services expand beyond lawn and snow, the company rebrands to Stokes Outdoor to reflect a broader range of outdoor services.
2018
Commercial snow plowing takes off
Stokes Outdoor expands into commercial snow plowing, picking up HOA contracts and commercial lots. The fleet grows to meet demand.
2022
Fencing services launch
Residential and commercial fencing is added to the service lineup — chain link, privacy, repairs, and full installations with grade correction.
2025
Excavation & contracting expansion
Neal joins the team, bringing 30 years of excavation and contracting experience. Stokes Outdoor begins taking on site work, sewer repairs, demolition, and concrete projects.
