Careers at Stokes Outdoor

We're hiring people who
actually want to work.

No corporate nonsense. No micromanaging. Just honest outdoor work with a crew that shows up every day and takes pride in what they do.

Why work with us

What you get when you join the crew.

We're a small company, and that's on purpose. You won't be a number here. You'll learn real skills, work with good people, and go home knowing you built something that day.

Competitive pay

We pay based on what you can do, not just what the job title says. Show up, work hard, and your pay reflects it.

Year-round work

Lawn care in spring and summer, fencing and contracting through fall, snow plowing all winter. We don't shut down — we switch gears.

N

Learn real skills

Fence installation, equipment operation, excavation work — you'll leave here knowing how to do things most people can't.

Small crew, no drama

You work directly with Sean and the team leads. No layers of management, no politics. Just get the work done and go home.

Consistent schedule

We run tight routes and organized job schedules. You'll know where you're going and what you're doing before the day starts.

Room to grow

We're expanding into excavation and contracting. As the company grows, so do the opportunities for crew members who prove themselves.

Lawn Care Crew Member

Full-time • Seasonal

Mowing, edging, trimming, and general lawn maintenance across residential and commercial properties. Must be reliable, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions. Experience preferred but not required — we'll train the right person.

General Laborer

Full-time • Year-round

Assist across all service lines — fence installs, site work, brush clearing, debris removal, loading/unloading, and general job site support. This is the entry point for someone who's reliable and physical but still building trade skills. Prove yourself here and move into a specialized role.

Fence Installer

Full-time • Year-round

Install chain link, privacy, and specialty fencing for residential and commercial properties. Includes post hole digging, grade correction, panel setting, and gate installation. Fencing or construction experience is a plus — but a strong work ethic matters more.

Equipment Operator / Laborer

Full-time • Year-round

Support excavation, demolition, and site work projects. Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other equipment. CDL is a plus. Must be comfortable with physical labor and working in varying weather conditions.

Snow Plow Operator

Seasonal • Winter

Drive plow trucks to clear commercial lots, HOA roads, and parking areas during winter months. Must have plow truck experience and be available for 24/7 callouts during snow events. CDL and salting/deicing experience preferred.

Snow Removal Crew Member

Seasonal • Winter

Shovel walkways, operate snow blowers, hand-salt building entries, sidewalks, and pedestrian areas at commercial properties and HOA communities. Must be available for early morning and overnight callouts during snow events. No driving experience required — just reliability and the ability to work in cold conditions.

What to expect

Straight talk about the work.

This isn't an office job. It's outdoor work and it's physical. Here's what a typical day looks like so there are no surprises.

N

Early starts

Most days begin between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. We meet at the shop, load up, and head to the first job.

N

Physical work

You'll be on your feet all day. Lifting, digging, pushing equipment. If you're not comfortable with that, this isn't the right fit.

N

All weather

Rain, heat, cold — we work through it. Snow plowing means middle-of-the-night callouts. That's the job.

N

Reliability is everything

Show up when you say you will. That's the most important thing. We can teach you the rest.
